Maddie Potts
In September of 2017, at the age of 17 Maddie Potts, suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and died on the soccer field during a home high school soccer game. Maddie was a fierce 3 sport high school athlete and aspiring artist. Maddie lived her life to support others, to reach out, stand up and persevere to help make all those around her better. She focused her light on her teammates and friends and dedicated her time to her community in every way she knew how.
Brain Aneurysm
A brain aneurysm is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain. It often looks like a berry hanging on a stem. A brain aneurysm can leak or rupture, causing bleeding into the brain (hemorrhagic stroke).

Signs and Symptoms
An unruptured aneurysm usually causes no symptoms. A ruptured aneurysm may have no symptoms, but some people could experience:
Sudden, extremely severe headache
Nausea and vomiting
Blurred or double vision
Sensitivity to light
Seizure
A drooping eyelid
Loss of consciousness
Maddie Potts Foundation
The Maddie Potts Foundation was established to carry on Maddie's legacy of kindness, compassion, hard work, inclusive leadership and perseverance, aka Maddie Mentality. The foundation gives back to the community each year with scholarships, facility upgrades, and opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
